Central Bedfordshire · Post-crisis home support
Survivors leaving abuse may have little or nothing with them. When replacing a bed, kettle or furniture isn't affordable, Ohana helps make an empty property feel like home, with donated essentials and practical support.
A dignified welcome after emergency or temporary accommodation.

The move after crisis
A new tenancy can still mean an empty room and no money to replace what was left behind.
Community is built by people who care.
Survivors fleeing domestic abuse often leave with few possessions. Emergency housing provides safety, but moving on can mean facing an unfurnished property with no bed, no kettle and little support to settle in. Ohana CIC bridges that gap, pairing donated furniture, essentials and volunteer hours with a dignified, hands-on welcome.
“Ohana” means family, and family means no one is left behind.

The basics that make a difference
Practical, dignity-led support delivered once housing is secured.
A bed for every person, sofa, dining table, sourced through reuse centres and community donations.
Pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, kettle and starter food shop so day one feels liveable.
Light decorating, cleaning, delivery and setup, plus signposting to local services and a friendly check-in.
“DART supports people to reach housing. Ohana CIC supports people once housing is secured.”
We're a complement to, not a replacement for, local crisis, advocacy and statutory services. Our role begins at the move-on stage, when keys are handed over.
Building Hope Together
Furniture, essentials, time or skills: every contribution can help make an empty home welcoming.
